October 22, 2023 – KAILASA Celebrates the Sixth Day of the Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Brahmotsavam with Auspicious Ceremonies and Rituals
KAILASA is delighted to present the essence of the sixth day of the Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Brahmotsavam, featuring numerous ceremonies and rituals.
Faithfully replicating the ancient Karthigai Deepam Brahmotsavam of KAILASA’s Arunachaleshwara temple in Tiruvannamalai, the Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Brahmotsavam stands as one of KAILASA’s main festivals.
Global temples of KAILASA joined hands to perform daily rituals in alignment with the ancient tradition of KAILASA’s Arunachaleshwara temple in Tiruvannamalai. Priests and devotees participated in the Abhishekam, offering a sacred bath to Lord Shiva in the form of Bhagavan Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva. This was followed by a ceremonial adornment, offering garments and jewels to Paramashiva, and the elaborate Deeparathana concluding the day of ceremonies. Additionally, two grand Yagashala Pujas, or Homas, were conducted to attract Divine blessings and protection for the day’s rituals.
The Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Brahmotsavam carries a rich ancient history of Divine happenings. On this day, Paramashiva bestowed Enlightenment upon Bhagavan Chandra (the Moon) and the Lokas of the Gandharvas and Yakshas. As Paramashiva proceeded for the daily ritualistic procession out of the Tiruvannamalai temple, KAILASA’s sannyasis, priests, and volunteers eagerly awaited to offer the traditional Mandagappadi – a reverential welcome.
Under the direct guidance of the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism, the day’s rituals were live-streamed on more than 534 social media handles and web televisions worldwide.
