How did Rudraksha manifest on planet Earth?
The Shivamahapurana story:
Three brother demons did intense penance and got a boon from Lord Brahma and protection, and it became impossible to kill these three demons. They lived in three floating cities(Purams). They could only be destroyed when their cities came into a single axis, which happened once in a thousand years. With the help of Bhavagan Vishnu and other Gods, Paramashiva destroyed the demons and liberated them with a single arrow.
Paramashiva readied Himself with the intense meditation he undertook to destroy three demons, the Tripurasuras, to aim at the cities that his half-closed eyes watered and fell on earth, and they created the rudraksha.
