KAILASA's Mahaparinirvana Diwas
02 November, 2025
What is KAILASA’s Mahaparinirvana Divas?
KAILASA celebrated Mahaparinirvana Day, the Day of the Enlightened Souls, with the most sacred Maheshwara Puja offered in the divine presence of The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism (SPH), Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam. The celebrations, held globally across more than 100 KAILASA temples and spiritual embassies, were centered at KAILASA Tiruvannamalai, where rituals were performed at the Samadhi of Sri Sri Sri Nithya Arunachalananda Swami, the biological father and initiated disciple of The SPH. This auspicious day, observed on Aippasi Shukla Paksha Dwadashi, honors all Enlightened Souls who have attained Mahasamadhi (Liberation), with offerings of Shrādha, Pinda Tarpana, and Maheshwara Puja made in reverence to those residing in Salokya Mukti, the divine space of Paramashiva.

KAILASA's Mahaparinirvana Day
In the sacred tradition of Hinduism, Maheshwara Puja is one of the most profound spiritual offerings, enabling completion with our departed loved ones and ancestors. Through this divine ritual, food offerings (pinda) are made to the departed souls by offering them to the living embodiment of Paramashiva, The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism (SPH), Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam—the ultimate space where all souls find liberation.
This sacred act not only honors those who have left the body but also liberates both the departed souls and the living from deep-rooted karmic bonds, granting pitrus (ancestors) eternal peace and the participants immense spiritual completion. On auspicious occasions such as Mahaparinirvana Diwas, devotees perform Maheshwara Puja to express gratitude, attain forgiveness, and dissolve lifetimes of karmic entanglement.
By offering this puja in the divine presence of The SPH Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam, devotees receive His blessings to experience liberation from the cycle of karma and rebirth, deep inner healing, and the grace of Paramashiva manifesting as eternal completion and enlightenment.
Mahaparinirvana Diwas is not merely an observance—it is a sacred celebration of Enlightenment, an offering of devotion, and a reaffirmation of the eternal truths of Sanatana Hindu Dharma. For every being of KAILASA, it is a day of profound completion, collective gratitude, and renewed commitment to living and radiating the state of Paramashiva as guided by The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism, Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam.
