Third Eye Awakening: Opening the Cosmic Command Center

Table of Contents

The ancient Vedic tradition named Ajna Chakra (the sixth chakra) to the Third Eye. Yogic literature describes it as a subtle center of Consciousness in the region between the eyebrows.

The word ‘ajna’ means ‘command’. Meditation allows it to become the command center for the being, who receives instructions from Paramashiva. It is also known as the command center because, once this chakra is activated, it gives the individual the power of clairvoyance, the ability to control and influence the forces of Nature, and his lower disposition.

Ancient references to the Third Eye

Patanjali speaks on this power in his Yoga Sutras:

sūkṣmā-vyāvahita-viprakr̥ṣṭa-jñānam ॥ 3.25॥

By redirecting the inner vision (one achieves) the knowledge of subtle, veiled, and remote (objects and events).

The ancient Yogi Sri Goraksanath of the Nath Sampradaya of Shaivism refers to the Third Eye as ‘bhruchakra’ in his work, Goraksha Vachana Sangraha (‘bhru’ meaning the eyebrows).

It is described as the size of a thumb (angushtha maatra). It appears like a steadily burning light (deepa shikhaakaara). It represents the Eye of Enlightenment (jnana netra).

Shaastra Pramana

His Three Eyes are to be remembered as symbolizing the three powers – Iccha, Jnana, Kriya – the power of Will, the power of Pure Wisdom, and the power of Cosmic Action. The moon crescent denotes Sarvajnāta, His power of all-knowing.

Modern Neuroscience and the Third Eye

Based on the visible evidence of the effects of meditating on the Ajna Chakra, it is possible to postulate the neurophysiological pathways and structures involved in it.

Several studies have been done on THE SPH BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM, ranging from FMRI to PET Scan to qEEG. The studies clearly show continuous heightened activity in the infer-medial prefrontal cortex and a simultaneous state of total restfulness with awareness across the entire brain, suggesting complete entrainment of neural activity.

Process of Third Eye Awakening

The process of activating the Third Eye, as described by THE SPH BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM, includes:

Initiation or Deeksha

This is the process of directly transmitting the bio-energy (Kundalini energy of the Avatar) into the area of the Third Eye, located between the two eyebrows of the recipient.

The meditation visualizes a light or golden light within the Third Eye, directly connecting with THE SPH BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM’s Third Eye. Timed meditation is performed alternatively, with eyes closed and eyes opened for three rounds.

Meditation using a blindfold

Applying the blindfold removes any sensory inputs from photons falling into the Eye’s retina. In the outer world, the maximum sensory input is through the visual system. Meditating in the darkness of the blindfold on the Third Eye allows one to focus with minimal distraction while simultaneously activating the pineal gland (which produces melatonin in darkness). Melatonin is responsible for re-adjusting the body’s circadian rhythm and has significant anti-aging benefits.

Effects of Third Eye Awakening

• Blindfolded reading

• Enhanced intuition

• Increased IQ

• Ability to use all aspects of the brain’s potential.

• Parakaya Pravesham is the ability to enter and understand the other being.

• Many other siddhis (mystical powers) as well as health benefits.

Your Door to the Cosmos

The third Eye is like a door to the Cosmos. You can receive anything from the Cosmos through the Third Eye. In the same way, you can send any command to the Cosmos through the Third Eye. Anything sent through the Third Eye to the Cosmos is immediately experienced! The third Eye is not just the brow center but also the Browsing Center! Like how you can upload or download anything through the Internet world through an internet browsing center, through the Third Eye, you can download and upload anything in the Cosmos. It is the Cosmic browsing center. Any Akashic Records can be downloaded by you when you open your Third Eye.

Bridging Physical and Mystical Worlds

Third Eye bridges the physical world and psychic and cosmic space. Third Eye Awakening achieves all the extraordinary powers, psychic powers. All the exceptional powers are lived when your Third Eye is completely awakened. Understand: whatever you see with these two eyes is not reality or enough. Third Eye makes you see the higher reality externally in your day-to-day life and internally in your life and journey. Third Eye Awakening makes you immediately experience God.

The Third Eye is a direct bridge to God. The third Eye is not just an eye but the very source of your Consciousness. If you align your thinking based on the principle of Advaita, Oneness, all your energy will become centered on the Third Eye; all your energy will become stable in your Third Eye. The functioning of your Third Eye will enter into the subsequent frequency.

Destroy Karmic Patterns and Incompletions

The more you use the Third Eye, the more the patterns and engrams engraved in your brain will be completed because you are continuously working with Consciousness. The more you use Consciousness, the more you become Consciousness. We call karma the deep-rooted unconscious patterns and incompletions that force you into a vicious cycle of fear, greed, and pain for lifetimes. When you start using the powers of your Consciousness freely, the unconscious parts of your mind are brought under the light of your Consciousness, and they automatically dissolve, clearing the karma.
